Briefing
Create a new sonic brand identity for Interpolis, including a brand song, sound logo, and bespoke music library.
Execution
Interpolis has created a rich musical heritage over the years. Besides owning one of the most iconic pay-offs a brand can have (Interpolis, Glashelder), they have also developed a great taste for using heartwarming and emphatic folk songs in their adverts (think of Smoorverliefd).
We started our collaboration by conducting a deep dive into the brand’s DNA, history, and values. In this stage, we started developing a concept in which we strived to revamp their iconic pay-off, instead of abandoning their history. Inspired by Interpolis’ use of acoustic, folk songs mixed with great songwriting, we wanted to write a bespoke brand song inspired by their brand values. After translating their brand values to sonic values, we rallied up a group of 15 amazingly talented songwriters to participate in a writing camp. The result: a diverse batch of demos that were musically inspired by the sonic values and lyrically inspired by Interpolis’ brand values.
The winning brand song became Sofia Dragt’s So Many Stories, which additionally served as the melodic inspiration for the sound logo – which subtly references their iconic pay-off. Through this process, we managed to give Interpolis a new and refreshing sound while embracing its history and brand heritage.
