Telkomsel re-branding yields gold award with a Dutch twist

Last Friday, August 12, the Asian-Pacific Marketing Awards (The Appies) were presented in Malaysia.

The gold award in the re-branding category was presented to the largest Indonesian telecom provider Telkomsel, which engaged the agencies VCCP and Someone In London in 2021 for the re-branding in honor of their 25th anniversary.

The Dutch company Amp.Amsterdam // The Sonic Branding Company also played a big role in the re-branding leading to the award: the company realized the complete audio re-branding of Telkomsel.

"After the previous successful introduction of the sonic branding for the Indonesian super brand Gojek, brands in the APAC region started approaching us more often. So did Telkomsel. In collaboration with the brand and the agencies involved, we have provided Telkomsel with a fresh new sound. Winning this award is a great way to show appreciation for the efforts of our team."

When creating the new sound for Telkomsel, both the cultural heritage of the brand and the new animated logo were taken into account. In addition to the sound logo, Amp.Amsterdam developed the brand score and UX/UI sounds of the Indonesian telecom provider.
