If our Project & Licensing Manager Sarah had to pin down how she fell in love with music for the first time, she’d say, “it was definitely my parents’ influence, I remember them listening to Jazz, 60s and 70s tunes – there was always music around.”
From there on, everything she did was music related. After studying music management at university, her journey took her to XITE, where she ended up as Head of Music – Linear before taking on a new challenge as Sync Manager at Universal. Sarah has seen different sides to the music industry, but where she feels at home the most is in the fast-paced world of commercial creativity – and what better place to be than with the Amp.Amsterdam team!
Knowing the ins and outs of the music industry and her expertise in music licensing, Sarah joined the Amp.Amsterdam team to support general projects and become our licensing guru. However, what fascinates her most about her job is the music choices for different projects – it could go from Harry Styles to Ramses Shaffy.
If she’s not busy licensing tracks, you can catch her outside taking long walks in nature, enjoying time with her friends and family, or fine-tuning her new skill: djing.
Something you should know about her: Picking one favorite artist or genre is a tad too limiting. She describes herself as a music fan in general. So while the tunes you’d hear blasting out of her headphones could vary from hip-hop to the golden oldies, her favorite album, ‘Graceland’ from Paul Simon, stays in her heart forever: “It’s not only about the songs – but the memories.”
Oh, and her suggestion for the best road trip music: The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Hell yes.
