Maria Mariaaaaaa, she doesn’t remind us of a Westside story, but we still love to sing her name. Her love for music already emerged when she was still a toddler: “As long as I remember, I wanted to play the guitar; this is also what I love doing in my free time. My mom told me that I was super drawn to instruments; I always wanted to touch them and play with them. Somehow my love for music was always there.”

It’s also her love for music that brought her to Amp.Amsterdam. As a Junior Music Supervisor, she is our eyes and mostly ears and oversees projects from creative brief to music production. She’s working closely with the whole team to either make sure compositions meet clients’ needs or compose the music herself. Basically, Maria is part of making the magic happen.

Before she joined Amp.Amsterdam, Maria worked as Assistant Music Programmer at the Melkweg, a popular music venue and cultural center in Amsterdam. There she supported the music programmers in finding the hottest new acts. She is still doing music programming for ‘Into The Great Wide Open’ festival in Vlieland. Hence she listens to all sorts of genres, stays up to date with upcoming artists, and just soaks in the joy of discovering new music.

No wonder her head is like a music library; she knows the perfect song for all occasions: need a shower song? Definitely the new Beyoncé ‘You Won’t Break My Soul’ track. Need a recommendation for a road trip song? She’d suggest playing Hermanos Gutierrez – El Jardin.

P.s. She is also working on her ‘greatest songs of all time’ playlist & hell, she says, it’s hard because there will only be ‘bangers’ in that list. We can’t wait to listen to these bangers soon!
