2017 was a year full of good music. A year where there was room for female empowerment in pop and highly politically charged songs, especially in hip-hop. There were also established names that released long-awaited albums and upcoming artists who scored hits with their debut singles.
Unfortunately, we had to say farewell to Chester Bennington, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Tom Petty, Charles Bradley, Riem de Wolf, Walter Becker, Johnny Hallyday, Chris Cornell, Malcolm Young, John Warren Geils, Al Jarreau and other great artists.

2017 is almost over, and we want to look forward. So here is a list of artists that you need to keep an eye on in 2018. One might be more famous than the other, one might become an established name, where the other will take great steps. In any case: 2018 will be their year.

We wish you a happy and tuned 2018,

YUNGBLUD managed to get on the bill of various major festivals last summer with only one single released. So imagine what festival season would look like for YUNGBLUD after 3 singles. Dominic Harrison mixes rockpop, punk, politically charged lyrics and hip-hop. With his clear vision and confidence on stage, he is an enormous promise for the future.

Sigrid, the up and coming Norwegian artist, became known after her big hit single Don't Kill My Vibe. With her rich and powerful vocals, she's ready-made for pop stardom. If Sigrid isn't already on your music radar, make sure you get familiar. Here's one Scandinavian talent we'll hear lots more of in the coming months.

16-year-old Billie Eilish made her breakthrough with Ocean Eyes. Singles Bored and Bellyache and EP Don't Smile At Me followed and now she's definitely developed into a true pop icon. We are going to enjoy a lot more of her ethereal indie electro-pop sound

Naaz is on her way to become the next big thing. At just 19 years old, she has already worked with Yellow Claw, SRNO & Flux Pavilion. Hit singles Can't, Words and Up To Something are promising a bright future. She's currently working on her debut EP and has big festival shows at 'Eurosonic Noorderslag' and 'Best Kept Secret' ahead of her.

The 3FM Talent, Avi On Fire, is true to this status and keeps on delivering catchy, quirky, and danceable tracks. Bram Wesdorp’s solo project can be described as alternative pop with a bit of Foster the People, MGMT, Phoenix and Foals. Last year he toured all around the country with 'Popronde', played at 'Eurosonic Noorderslag', and is now ready for his solo tour, which starts in February.

16-year-old Leafs is the youngest rapper who is signed to Dutch hip-hop label Noah's Ark, and he isn’t taking things slowly. He's already released EP Feals and album Adventures (fully produced by Ramiks) and has done collaborations with Sevn Alias, Yung Nnelg & Bokoesam.

Jabob Banks independently started his career back in 2012. His beautiful, raw and soulful voice is his signature and has already conquered many hearts. With singles like Chainsmoking, Unholy War, and newest single Unknown (To You), Jacob Banks proves he is a great rising star, and he is rising really fast.

After her big single’s Dye My Hair and Chasing Highs and Phases, the Finnish pop talent ALMA officially made it international. For ALMA's upcoming album (estimated early 2018) she teams up with her friend Charli XCX. ALMA has a clear vision for her future, her powerpop sound and her 'cybergoth' image.

Pale Waves, the indie-pop band from Manchester, released their debut track There's a Honey early 2017, and 3 more singles followed shortly. The success of the band is getting fans excited for the release of their first EP (estimated early 2018), and is a great promise for 2018. With their perfect indie-pop tracks and great songwriting, keep a close eye on them, as they start a European tour in February.

Bad Sounds started with two brothers bringing their personal styles together: hip-hop mixed with soul, pop, and R&B. The combination results in 70's inspired grooves and upbeat vibes, catchy pop, and feel good hip-hop.  EP Mixtape One, and newest single Are You High? makes us excited to see them live at 'Eurosonic Noorderslag'.

Kita Menari: a new indie pop band that started their career only this year. ‘Kita Menari’ in Malaysian means "We Dance” and symbolizes this change. Kita Menari released their first single Young Lovers on May 5th of this year, which was added to popular international playlists on Spotify right away. Watch his Amp.Session at our office here.
